He is the sole secretary of the society. Bhide is very responsible, honest, principled and caring. As Bhide's modest income from tuition classes is insufficient to meet family needs, he actively assists in his wife's business of homemade pickles. During any gathering Bhide addresses residents of Gokuldham after giving them his full introduction which often irritates them. Bhide is always reminiscent of old days and loves antique things. He owns a scooter named 'Sakharam' gifted by his wife and consider it as a family member. He daily writes suvichar (quote) on the notice board. Bhide has love-hate relationship with Jethalal. Bhide is often irritated by irresponsible behavior of Jethalal, mischief conducted by Tapu. However, both Jethalal and Bhide wholeheartedly help each other during crisis period.
Madhavi is his wife and Sonalika (Sonu) is their daughter.
